Marit, Month 5
Ongelofelijk hoe een baby kan veranderen elke maand, ook Marit kan weer het nodige meer dan vorige maand! Moest ze eerst niks hebben van andere omgevingen, geluiden of andere mensen/kinderen, nu kan ze daar heel goed tegen en begint ze zelfs te lachen naar andere kinderen. Iets wat vooral bij de gastouder erg handig is, daar gaat ze nu elke week op zijn minst een dag heen om te wennen (en daar zijn we wel blij om, want dat heeft wel erg goed geholpen). In het begin van de maand had ze vooral haar benen ontdekt, en dat je daar heen-en weer mee kunt zwiepen zodat je dichter bij een speeltje  terecht komt. Ook omrollen van buik naar rug lukt af en toe. De laatste tijd echter is het vooral dat ze je van grote afstanden begint te herkennen en je dan een big smile of schaterlach toewerpt. Rechtop zitten kanze al bijna zelf, en ook het kletsen begint steeds meer op brabbelen te lijken. Marit is een echt ochtendmens, net als haar papa, want om 5 a 6 uur zijn de kletsgeluiden van haar kamertje niet van de lucht!
Marit is nu ook volledig op de flesvoeding overgestapt (de borst was op het laatst echt niet interessant meer, en bijten mocht niet van mama), en we zijn ook begonnen met fruithapjes om haar te leren happen en slikken. Volgende maand gaan we dan echt over op bijvoeding, en dan kunnen we haar nog veel meer andere smaken geven dan banaan, peer of appel (de laatste twee vindt Marit errug lekker!) Ook gaat Karin vanaf begin januari weer aan het werk voor 3 dagen per week, wat ook wel weer wennen zal zijn! De opvang is echter nu goed geregeld, want Marit zal vanaf mei (wanneer ze 10 maanden oud is) naar het kinderdagverblijf gaan. Tot die tijd echter blijft ze nog bij gastouder Sabine.
Natuurlijk hebben we ook weer de nodige foto’s genomen, deze staan onder Marit maand 5. Hierin staan onder andere Marit’s eerste Sinterklaas, gevierd bij beide opa’s & oma’s, en bezoeken van respectievelijk een collega van Karin en een vriendin van Karin met haar zoontje. Marit heeft trouwens ook het toetsenbord ontdekt, zittend bij mama op schoot.

It’s unbelievable how a baby develops every month! Marit can do so much more now than she did the month before. Whereas before she was afraid of different environments, sounds or people/children, now she likes it and even starts to smile when she sees other children. This is particularly useful when she is with our professional babysitter, where Marit is now every week to get used to her (with which we are vey happy with, since it helped her a lot to become less afraid). At the start of the month Marit discovered her legs, meaning that you can use those and lift them from one side to the other to get closer to a toy. She also discovered how to roll from her belly to her back. The last couple of weeks however, she is more into recognizing you from a great distance, and throwing you a great smile! She can sit up straight almost by herself, and also her baby talk starts to sound more and more to real talking. Marit is a real morning person like her daddy, we hear her talking and making noises at 5 am!
Marit is only drinking from the bottle now, we have stopped breastfeeding since Marit did not find the breast very interesting anymore, and also because her mum did not like Marit biting that much! We have also started with feeding her fruit and vegetables for her to get used to eating. As of next month, she can really start to eat other things, so she can eat more than just banana, pear and apple (of which she likes the latter two particularly well!). Karin will start work at the beginning of January for 3 days a week, which will mean a lot of adjustment. We have finally sorted out the daycare though, as from May onwards Marit will go professional daycare. Until that time she will continue to stay with the professional babysitter.
Ofcourse we have taken a lot of pictures again, which are published under Marit month 5. For example, Marit’s first Sinterklaas (a Dutch tradition similar to Santa Claus), which she celebrated at both grandparents. Also a collegeague of Marit visited, and a friend of Karin together with her son. Marit also likes the keyboard very much!
